ABOUT
Mexican Artist
I am a Mexican artist. Born in Sonora, Mexico, and raised in Mexico City. I obtained a B.A. in Graphic Design and master's in Semiotics from Anáhuac University. In 2005 my family and I immigrated to Pennsylvania, where we continue to live now.

Being an immigrant has shaped a large part of what I want to convey in my work. I always find myself longing for those things that I grew up with: flavors, colors, textures, people, and music, everything that is part of my identity. I feel the responsibility and the desire to transmit and preserve my culture and heritage to new generations.

In my collection, "Trades of Mexico", I intend to transport the observer to my country of origin and show the richness and beauty of it’s culture.
"Trades of Mexico" is a tribute to the people whose legacy has been passed from generation to generation. It is an awakening to value the work behind each trade, it is the inheritance embodied in canvas of the daily life of the Mexican.

Each person captured in my paintings has a story to be told, events that have made them stronger and made them see life from another perspective. I recognize that their work becomes art, an art that we see, touch, smell and feel every day and that is why it amazes me. The physical distant from Mexico makes me want to capture it’s traditions on canvas, as a way of preserving my identity and sharing the richness of my culture. I intend to convey the expressions, colors, features, and the implicit passion to carry out each of these trades and the settings in which they take place.

This is my contribution to Mexican culture, my way of thanking those who have given me so much and it is the way I say: I am far away but I still feel so close.

As an artist, I’m interested in interpreting the subject, conveying expressions, colors, and features through the gesture of my brushwork. I think of the viewer as the final element in my work, as their eyes complete what lies between my implicit forms, shapes and lines. I recognize that my work becomes an object to be lived with, and appreciate that my art will be part of the collectors life.

The awards and galleries my work has been recognized include: The Venice Biennale at The Modigliani Foundation in Venice, Sophart Gallery in Mexico City, The French Embassy in Monaco, The Lore Degenstein Gallery in Selinsgrove, PA, and The Swiss Cathedral, in Switzerland.

My work is available for commissions, original and print formats.
